psycho- analysis of thrillers

'Psycho' by Alfred Hitchcock influenced me thriller, as it is most thrillers there is main character that survivors all the way through till the end however with psycho te famous shower seen confuses the audience as the main character dies not even half way through. But this is different and very effective.

The film often features shadows, mirrors, windows. The stuffed birds shadows loom over Marion(main character) as she eats, and Norman's mother is seen in only shadows until the very end.

The shower scene is the one of the most popular thriller scenes,it displays the main character, marion- from what you can work out from the shadow, being stapped to dealth, the famous non diagetic music also is played along side the low key lighting. It is also very effective as you can relate it to every day life, being in the shower you feel very vunrable and theres no pretection. The diagetic sound is also disturbing, the screams and stapping noices only make it more realistic.
